When it comes to work and life, I have principals that I like to follow. I have learned them from close friends, mentors, and most importantly, my parents. As far as my life principles, those I'll keep private for now. When it comes to building my career, this is what I believe.
- 01Hard work and tenacity always wins.No explanation needed.
- 02In-person always. My first job was fully remote, now I work 5 days in the office. I have flown to cities for a day just to have a single meeting in person. The benefit of in-person work and communication will always be a key value I hold.
- 03Frequent and meaningful feedback.I played the best hockey of my career when I got feedback after every shift on the ice. I was able to adjust immediately and compound on small improvements every game. I view my career with the same philosophy.
- 04Strong opinions, loosely held. Not to steal an omen from Marc Andreessen, but this is a large reason I write consistently. I have strong opinions that I try to write about consistently, but when presented with data that contradicts my original opinion, I will gladly shift.
- 05Show, don't tell. It's great to tell someone about the work you can do, the product you can build, or your thesis around a topic. It's 10x better to actually do the work and show your ability.
